Hi Kathy and Karen!
Just wanted to update you on "Sweetie" our adorable little Green Cheek! She (my daughter has decided she is a girl) has stolen the hearts of everyone in our family! What a little sweetheart she is! She has already learned to give kisses and "dance" on command (especially if you have a carrot waiting for her!). She LOVES to cuddle and get a head scratch from anyone who is interested! She is trying very hard to say "I love you"(she has all the syllables down pretty good and her enunciation gets better every day). She has so much fun with the kids, dances with them all the time and loves to watch the "outside" birdies at the feeder through the window. As you can see from the attached pictures, she has her own bed, and has found a new best friend, our Newfoundland "Emma". She rides around on Emma's back and preens her constantly. If she starts to slip off, Emma gives her a little nose- nudge to help her back on, it's hilarious! She is so spoiled already, only goes to the cage when we go out and to sleep and if we are late getting her out, she dances all over until we open the door! Thank you so much for this sweet, loving little bird! She has already become an irreplaceable member of our family. Hope you enjoy the pictures! Thanks again!

I recently bought a quaker parrot from here. He was a 3 mo old baby when I got him. I had him shipped to me in MA. He is a sweet little birdie. I was VERY PLEASED! He was obviously well cared for, he arrived with bright eyes, his nares, feathers, vent & feet were clean. He was not skittish at all and very well socialized.  During the time I was waiting for him to be weaned, I had asked numerous questions, e mailing back and forth with them. They always responded timely to my emails and questions. After Yoshi's flight they checked in with us to ensure everything was ok, which shows they really care about their parrots and customers.  In a nutshell kandkparrots were exceptional on every level and I highly recommend them.

Hi Kathy and Karen,

We are enjoying Jada so much. As you can see, we had a little welcome
home party for Jada. Everyone was very excited about her arrival. She
is a sweet heart. She loves to cuddle. With all of the cuddling going
on, we aren't spending much time learning how to talk! We have all
fallen in love with her. I can't believe how lucky we are to have her
in our lives. Thank you for giving us such a sweet bird. My oldest
daughter Jackie and her boyfriend Bradley have been over several
times to visit (more now that Jada is here). I wouldn't be surprised
if Jada gets a playmate from them soon. They'll be calling when
they're ready. Thanks again. I'll keep you updated.

Hi Kathy and Karen,

I just had to tell you Chico (Congo African Grey) and I have quite a love affair going.  Every day when I pull into the driveway and he sees my car he goes nuts.  It's like "oh boy mom's home" and as soon as I walk through the door he gives me a big wolf whistle and he also kisses me.  I was letting him sit on the perch with the big round tray while I was fixing dinner, but I had to stop letting him in the kitchen because he would fly to my shoulder, I would put him back on his perch and he would fly to my shoulder again ( he's not happy unless he is sitting on my shoulder).  One day he flew and missed my shoulder and landed in the dishpan full of water and dishes.  I knew I could no longer let him in the kitchen for fear of him flying to the stove, so the kitchen is off limits now.  I really need to clip his wings.

Chico loves trying to take food out of my mouth when I'm eating.  He's not satisfied with getting the food on my plate, he wants what's in my mouth.  He loves drinking iced tea from my glass, ice cream, tomatoes, and his all time favorite is big bing cherries.  I try and give him a good balanced diet.  Whatever I have for dinner, he gets part of it.  He still gets his seed and fruit blend in the morning.  Today I put half an apple in his cage.  He used to love those banana chips, and now you give him one and he throws it.

Chico makes all kinds of sounds (one in particular is a belch he picked up on, so lovely).  I heard him the other day trying to say his name.  He did a pretty good job of it, and it also sounded like he said "thank you" one day, but it wasn't too clear.  He still loves to cuddle.  Every evening after dinner I lay down with him, he tucks his head under my chin and nudges my hand to rub the top of his head.  If I stop rubbing, he gets restless and shakes his head back and forth, as if to say "what are you doing, I'm not ready for you to stop yet."  I just love him to death.  I will have to take some pictures and send them to you.  Thank you so much to K&K Parrots.

(Carol had lost a Grey a while back to a stray dog which had run into her home.  She ordered a baby Grey from us, but when it came time for her bird to go home, her son was in a very serious accident.   She was not able to take the baby we had and was very upset, but we promised her another for when her life got back to normal.  Shortly after, we got her another baby Grey, Chico, which is now the love of her life!)

After losing our beloved cockatiel of 25 years, we decided that we wanted to welcome another bird into our home.  We found K and K Parrots and traveled to Delaware to see their birds.  We were treated to a wonderful little aviary where we could interact with the birds and decide which bird we wanted.  At the time, we were not sure what type of bird we wanted but after interacting with the various breeds, decided on a cockatoo.  Kathy and Karen ordered us a Lesser Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and they weaned him and hand tamed him for us.  They also taught him how to "step up" on our finger.  They were very gracious in allowing us to come up to visit our "baby" on the weekends.  We have had Boo for 6 months now (he is 9 months old) and he is wonderful.  When I took him to our vet he remarked that he was a really nice bird.  We are so happy that we found K and K Parrots.  They really laid a great foundation for our "baby".      He is affectionate, funny, and quite an acrobat!

I just wanted to give you a little update and show you my children with Bonnie.
She is doing great!  Likes grapes.  The kids like to watch her as she is eating the pieces.  She loves hanging out with me during the day.  She just rides along on my shoulder quite abit.  When she isn't with me she plays on top of her cage.
Thank You so much for raising a wonderful bird for our family.

Hi,  I bought the Green Cheek Conure (Cuddles) from you in January (2007). I thought that I would let you know that she is a wonderful bird. We had her sexed and it is a female. I taught her to step up onto my finger, to dance (by bobbing her head up and down) whenever i say 'dance', to make kissing noises when ever I say 'kisses' and she is now trying to learn how to say 'hi' and it is coming along nicely.  She sings all day and is a very sweet and loving bird.   I also taught her to come to me. If she is on one side of the cage when I call her she comes right out to say hello!
She is a wonderful bird and if I decide to get another bird it will certainly be from you! Thank you!!

Katie from New York

Hello Kathy and Karen,

This is Janelle. I just wanted to take a minute to send you some pictures of the Citron Cockatoo Tre (aka Precious), whom we have now had for about a month. He is settling in quite nicely.  Thank you again for such a wonderful companion.

I want to thank you for providing me with such a well socialized companion. My African grey parrot, "Jack", has been a wonderful addition to our home. I read many books on parrots and parrot behavior before I made the purchase. It is quite obvious that you spent a tremendous amount of time and effort to provide me with a parrot that is both physically and mentally well adjusted. I want to thank you for everything that you have done.
Jack is 5 months old today. His eyes are lightening everyday. He is really vocal and has already developed some identifiable speech cadences. Our relationship is progressing quite well. He trusts me very much and I the same with him. He is very well adjusted to his new homes. He goes to work with me daily only to return to my house on nights and weekends. He seems to enjoy the action. The only thing that upsets him are fur coats. He must have great insight and instinctive knowledge of the animal kingdom.  I am learning alot about him everyday. He has favorite foods, toys , songs, games and of course..people!

Kathy & Karen,
We couldn’t be happier with Tallulah!  She is such a sweet heart and just loves us to pieces. Talk about spoiled… never in my life did I think we would have a bird beg for food, especially sweets!!!  At times we have the three bulldogs and her all standing and staring, just hoping for a morsel to fall.  She’ll walk off her cage, down her ladder and across the kitchen floor if she’s ready for a bite.  We’ve been blessed… the dogs don’t mind her a bit!

Kathy and Karen, I wanted to provide you with a few pics and an update regarding Pickles (double yellow head Amazon).  My husband and I had been researching parrots for many years before we decided to buy one as we were unsure what to expect.  Despite the fact that we were a bit nervous about owning a parrot, I have to say that she has been the BEST addition to our home and my only regret is that we didn't come see you years ago.  There is never a dull moment in the house and we are constantly laughing at her funny behaviors.  We are so surprised at how quickly she has learned to talk and do tricks.  Pickles knows how to give a "high five" and is now learning to retrieve.  We often hear her give herself commands such as when she tells herself to, "step up, Pickles....that's a good girl!"  She is definitely treated like royalty and if I could get away with bringing her to work with me, I would absolutely do it!

Our experience with K&K has been wonderful....everytime we have had any questions since we've brought Pickles home, you have always been there to help out and provide great advice!   I also love the fact that your care of the birds in your aviary is always very loving and I knew right away that I was getting a bird that had been well cared for.  Thanks again!!  Hope you like the pics.

I wanted to send this note of appreciation to you.  The African Grey Parrot, Tiki that we purchased from you is already part of the family in less than a week.  As soon as we got him home he stepped out of the carrier and wanted a scratch.  He is fun, good natured, curious, cuddly and funny.  Your service and information have been great, and it's obvious by Tiki's personality that he has been well cared for.  I wouldn't consider going anywhere else for a Parrot or bird.  Thank you.

After my cockatiel, Pippin died, I didn't think I could love another bird as much. He was the "best bird buddy" I ever had! I genuinely did not think another bird could be as sweet as Pippin was. After a month or so, I started searching on the Internet for different species of birds to adopt. I always, in the back of my mind, wanted an African Grey. While researching, I came across some information about Timneh Greys and what wonderful pets they make. I found information that stated they are just as intelligent as their better known counterparts, the Congo’s, but generally aren't as well known and therefor not purchased or adopted as much. So, my search began for a Timneh. I called numerous breeders and shops. After a few weeks, I came across K&K parrots. I was particularly impressed that this Avery let you come and spend time with your chosen baby while the "chick" is in the process of being raised and weaned. I could bond with my new baby! That was definitely one of the perks. During my first visit to bond with my new Timneh, I was awestruck with all the other little babies in the Avery. One in particular caught my eye! There sat this little jiggling green baby bird! My mom and I cracked up watching this bird sit and jiggle! We no sooner got home before a decision was made! "Mom, I am buying that little "jiggler" for your birthday!" I called Karen and Kathy immediately to put her on hold. Again, we got to visit with our newly purchased babies until they were ready to come home. Stormy is my grey and BeeBop is mom’s little green Quaker (jiggler!) They are very snugly birds and just love to be held. I think that is definitely a testimony to their rearing by Kathy and Karen. I swear, Stormy would sleep with me if I allowed it. He tucks himself in between my shoulder and neck and falls right to sleep! BeeBop likes to "nest" in our hair! BeeBop, snuggles up to my cat! I wouldn't recommend this generally, but my cat could care less that it’s a bird!

They are each one year old now and started talking at about the age of 8 months. BeeBop started first. She usually talks directly to us but sometimes really gets carried away while she is alone. She says numerous words and sentences such as "wanna get a shower?", "what cha doin’?", "got to go to work?", "where’s Stormy?", "hi BeeBop!", "good girl!", "kisses?", "yeeaahhh", "step up", "hey baby", "goodnight" and "pretty girl." And when asking a question such as "wanna get a shower?", BeeBop actually changes her tone to pose it as a question! Stormy will talk to me once in a while directly, but really talks when he thinks nobody is listening...(which we are all the time!) He, in particular, speaks words that he has over heard so my advice is to be very careful what you say when you have a grey in the house! He says "Rebel, shut up!" (Rebel is my dog), "get, get down!", "Stooorrrmmmyyy", "good boy", "Stormy’s a good boy!", "where’s Stormy?", "What cha doin?" "OUCH!", "step up", and "good girl." He also has learned how to perfectly mimic the very squeaky bathroom door! I am in the process of trying to teach him how to call for me by name. This may be a mistake! He also has a particular whistle he uses to call me when he wants out of his cage. Again, he learned this from hearing me call the dogs!

These birds are a joy and bring pleasure to everyone in the house. They do require a great deal of attention, but the good thing is because we got 2 babies at the same time who were weaned together, they entertain each other when we can't entertain them. They are a great comfort to each other and literally call for each other by name! Well, BeeBop does, but she is the "boss" of Stormy anyway! Which is amusing in of itself given the size difference. They are very entertaining to say the least!

Hi Kathy and Karen, I just wanted to thank you for the love and care you put into my quakers. They are doing good in their new cage and are eating ALOT. They love to go in side the tent and like to come out and play all the time and they are starting to learn to step up already. Well if anybody wants to know a great place to buy a bird it is from you guys. You just must have a green thumb for parrots.

   Thank you so so much,
